Note: Calling features are based on Arvig service area. Some features are not available in all areas.

Call Return stores the number of the last incoming call and automatically dial it for you. Call Return will attempt to connect the call for up to 30 minutes. Call Return does not return blocked calls. Start code is *69. Stop code is *89.

Conference Calling allows you to talk with up to 20 individual callers at the same time. Call Arvig with the time and date of your meeting and Arvig will arrange your Conference Call.

Repeat Dial automatically redials the last number called from your telephone for up to 30 minutes until both your line and the called line are available. When both lines are available, you’ll hear a distinctive ring. Start code is *66. Stop code is *86.

Safety Line dials a pre-selected number if the handset is lifted and a number is not dialed within 20 seconds. (The preset number cannot be “911.”)

Three-way Calling can be used to add a third person to your call

Three-Way Calling with User Transer allows the user to transfer a call to another number and then drop out of the call, leaving the other two parties connected.

Call Forward-All Calls allows you to forwards your calls to another number when you are unavailable to answer.

Call Forward-Busy forwards your calls when you are on the telephone with another call.

Call Forward-No Answer forwards your calls after a specified number of rings when you are unable to answer.

Call Forward-Remote Access allows you to activate or deactivate your Call Forwarding from a remote location.

Call Waiting allows you to have a private conversation with one caller, while keeping another caller on hold. With Call Waiting, a beep tone tells you that a second call is waiting. Another reminder is heard 10 seconds later if the waiting call remains unanswered. (Only you hear this tone. The second caller hears only the normal ringing tone.)

Phone to Go allows your calls to simultaneously ring on up to four other numbers when callers dial your main number. Choose to have your calls ring at your home, office, cabin, cellular telephone, etc. Dial *62 and the auto-attendant will direct you through the set-up menu.

Selective Call Forwarding allows you to forward selected calls to another number and have all other calls ring at your telephone as usual. Calls originating from numbers on your “Preferred List” of up to 10 numbers are forwarded. All other calls ring at your telephone. When Call Forward, Call Forward Busy, and Call Forward No Answer are active, Selective Call Forwarding is on and all of your calls are forwarded.

Voicemail is a telephone answering machine that enables you to play, send, answer, and forward your messages from any touch-tone telephone or computer. With Voice Mail there’s no need for another electronic box to sit on your table or counter!

Caller ID: Name & Number displays the name and/or telephone number of the caller on a specially equipped display telephone or other Caller ID unit. If the caller has blocked the delivery of the call, or if Caller ID is not available in the caller’s telephone network, the display screen shows “Private” or “Anonymous.” Caller ID customers also receive Anonymous Call Rejection.

Call Tracing allows you to initiate a trace on the last call you have received, simply press *57 after receiving the call.

Call Waiting ID show you who’s calling when you are on the telephone.

Distinctive Ring assigns an additional number to your telephone line. The distinctive ringing on this additional number allows you to identify which number is being called.

Priority Call alerts you of a call from your own “Priority Call List” of up to 10 numbers via a distinctive ring or distinctive Call Waiting tone.

Selective Call Acceptance allows you to choose to receive only calls from specific parties by entering their telephone numbers into a “selection list” of up to 10 numbers.

Selective Call Rejection gives you the ability to choose not to receive calls from specific parties by entering their telephone number into a “Screening List” of up to 10 numbers. Calls originating from those numbers will be routed to a recorded announcement stating you are not accepting calls at this time.

Vanity Number allows you to select a phone number that spells your name or a slogan, if it is available. For example, you may want a number like 346-SALE, 338-WALK or 844-MARY.

Anonymous Call Rejection prevents intentionally blocked calls from reaching you. Callers who have blocked their call with Per Call Blocking or Line Blocking will hear a message stating this number is not accepting calls from blocked lines.

Line Blocking prevents your number from being displayed to Caller ID customers on all calls made from your telephone. Line Blocking is available upon request at no charge to residential customers.

Per Call Blocking is a feature already provided on your telephone line, prevents your telephone number from being displayed to Caller ID customers on a per-call basis. Simply press *67 before placing your call.

Per Call Unblocking allows you to unblock your Line Blocked telephone line on a per-call basis so your number will be displayed to Caller ID customers. This is available to all customers who have Line Blocking. To activate this feature, press *82 before placing your call. After the call, Line Blocking will again be in effect.

Selective Toll Restriction allows you to control access to direct-dialed long distance calling from your telephone. You can enable and disable Selective Toll Restriction by dialing a two-digit access code and setting a restriction with a four- digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Call Waiting
With Call Waiting, if you are on the phone a gentle tone will alert you that you have another incoming call. You can decide if you would like to answer it or let it ring. If you decide to answer it you can put one call on hold while handling the second call, or alternate between the two calls. If you forget and hang up while someone is holding, your phone will ring to remind you.

To end an existing call and answer a CALL WAITING call: Hang up, then allow telephone to ring and answer it.
To hold an existing call and answer a waiting call: Depress and release the switchhook.
To alternate between calls: Depress and release the switchhook.
To disconnect call: Hang up.

Note: If you have CALL HOLD, you must dial * 9 # after depressing the switch hook to accept the waiting call.
Cancel Call Waiting
Cancel Call Waiting allows you to cancel call waiting before or during a telephone call.
Prevents call waiting interruptions on important calls and long distance calls.
Prevents data transmission errors caused by CALL WAITING tones when using computer modems.

To cancel call waiting before making a call:
Lift Handset and listen for dial tone.
Press * 70, then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone (rotary phones dial 1170)
Dial desired telephone number.

To cancel call waiting during a call (3-way calling feature or call hold feature is required):
Depress the switchhook, then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone.
Press *70, then listen for three beeps (rotary phones dial 1170).
Wait for automatic reconnection to existing call.

Note: When cancel call waiting is activated, caller will hear a busy signal.
Call Hold
Call Hold lets you dial a special code and place someone on hold when you want to initiate a second call, or when you need to talk privately with someone in the room. You can also place a call on hold, hang up, listen for ringing, and retrieve the call from another extension off of the same phone line.

To put a call on hold:
Depress and release the switchhook.
Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone.
Press *9 # (rotary phones dial 119 and ignore the # key).
The caller is put on hold.

To return to a call on hold:
Press *9 # (rotary phones dial 119 and ignore the # key).
Hang up and allow your telephone to ring.

To alternate between calls:
Depress and release the switchhook.
Press *9 # (rotary phones dial 119 and ignore # key).
Present call is placed on hold; previous call is reconnected.

3-Way Calling
Three Way Calling allows you to add a third party to an existing telephone conversation.
Reduces the need for callbacks when trying to confirm plans and schedules.
Brings family and friends together.

To set up a three way call:
Depress and release the switchhook.
Listen for the three beeps and a steady dial tone (present call is placed on hold).
Dial third party's telephone number. If busy or no answer, depress and release the switchhook twice to reconnect first call.
After third party answers, depress the switchhook for a three-way call.

Note: You may privately converse with a third party as long as you wish before using the switchhook to establish a three-way call. After a three-way call is established, you may depress the switchhook to drop third party at any time.
Toll charges apply on long distance calls.
Last Call Return
Last Call Return allows you to dial a code and have a call automatically returned to the last pasty who called or attempted to call you. Eliminates the aggravation of rushing to the phone when you are returning from errands or in the shower only to find that the person on the other end has hung up.
Makes it easy to return calls that would normally be missed.

To Use Last Call Return:
Lift the handset and listen for dial tone
Press * 69 (rotary phones dial 1169).
Listen for an announcement that will tell you the phone number of the party who called you.
If you wish to return the call, press 1.

To Cancel Last Call Return:
Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone.
Press * 89 (rotary phones dial 1189).

Notes: You will only be able to return the last call you receive.
If the number you are trying to reach is a blocked call or outside the area served by last call return, you will hear a recording advising you that the call cannot be made.
After a call during which you heard a call waiting tone, you can use the last call return to return a call to the call waiting number.

Call Transfer
Call Transfer allows you to transfer calls to another line or voice mail. You can transfer calls you originate or incoming calls. It works with local or long distance calls.

To transfer calls:
Depress and release the switchhook.
Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone (present call is placed on hold).
Dial third party's telephone number
When the line begins to ring, wait for third party to answer, have a three-way conference, or hang up to transfer call.

Note: Toll charges apply on long distance calls. Three way calling feature required.
Speed Calling
Speed Calling 8 allows you to call 8 selected telephone numbers, local or long distance, quickly by dialing an assigned code.
Eliminates the need to look up or remember telephone numbers.
Saves time when dialing numbers, especially long distance numbers.
Allows fast, accurate dialing of emergency numbers.

To set up Speed Calling 8:
Lift handset and listen for dial tone.
Press 74 # for 1-digit Speed Calling (codes 2-9) (rotary phones ignore the # key).
Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone.
Enter Speed Calling code (choose any number 2 through 9).
Dial desired telephone number.
Press the # key (rotary phones ignore the # key).

To use Speed Calling:
Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
Dial the desired Speed Calling code (2-9), then press the # key (rotary phones ignore the # key).

To change Speed Calling entries:
Repeat the first three steps. The old numbers will be automatically replaced in the phone's memory with the new number.

Continuous Redial
Continuous Redial allows you to dial a code to have your phone continuously attempt to redial a busy number that you tried to call. When the line is free, you will be alerted with a special ringing, and a call will automatically be made. You can also use Continuous Redial to redial the last number you called.

To use Continuous Redial:
Hang up, then lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
Press * 66 (rotary phones dial 1166).
If the line is still busy, hang up. Your phone will check the number for up to 30 minutes.
You will hear a short-short-long ring when the line is free. Your call will automatically be made when you lift the receiver.

To cancel Continuous Redial:
Press * 86 (rotary phones dial 1186) and listen for tone or announcement.

Note: While Continuous Redial is activated, you may still make and receive other calls.
You can use Continuous Redial for more than one busy number at a time. You will hear a special ring when one of these numbers becomes idle: however, you will not be able to tell which of the numbers it is.
If the number you are trying to reach is outside the area served by Continuous Redial, you will hear a recording advising you that the call cannot be made.
Home Intercom
Home Intercom allows you to make intercom calls within your household (or single line business office) by dialing a special code. Your extensions will ring with a special ringing pattern. This feature also allows you to transfer outside calls to other members of your household.

To place a Home Intercom call:
Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
Dial * 53 (rotary phones dial 1153).
Listen for continuous beeping, hang up or depress the switchhook. All extensions on your line will ring.
Wait for the ringing to stop, indicating that someone else in your home has answered one of the extension phones.
Lift the receiver or release the switchhook and begin conversation.

To transfer a call to another extension in your home:
Depress and release the switchhook (the call will be temporarily placed on hold).
Listen for recall dial tone. Press * 53 (rotary phones dial 1153) and listen for continuous beeping.
Hang up or depress the switchhook. All extensions on your line will ring, wait for the ringing to stop, indicating that someone else in your home has answered one of the extension phones.

Note: If your line has other features that use distinctive ringing, you will not be able to distinguish the distinctive rings for these features from the corresponding ring patterns for Home Intercom.
Phone to Go
If you are one of the many Americans who owns multiple phones, and are at many places during the day, Phone to Go will make it easier for you to be found. Phone to Go allows you to connect up to 6 different phones to ring in any order that you choose. For example, you could set it up to where they first call your home phone, if you don't answer, it goes to your business phone. If you're not there either, the call goes to your cell phone, and if you're still not there, it can go straight to your Voice Mail.

For Access to the Phone to Go Service Administration Number:
Call 320.xxx.1222 or visit http://vm.Arvig.net/Portal/

To Turn the Service On/Off:
1. Dial the administration number for the Phone to Go service.
2. Enter your Subscriber Number (10-digit telephone number).
3. Enter your password. (Default is 0000.)
4. Press 1 to turn the service On/Off.

To Change Your PIN:
1. Dial the administration number for the Phone to Go service.
2. Enter your Subscriber Number (10-digit telephone number).
3. Enter your password. (Default is 0000.)
4. Press 5 to change your PIN number.
5. Enter your new PIN.
6. Reenter your PIN to verify.

To Record Your Name:
1. Dial the administration number for the Phone to Go service.
2. Enter your Subscriber Number (10-digit telephone number).
3. Enter your password. (Default is 0000.)
4. Press 3 to record your name.
5. Record your name and press the # key when done.
