AN ESOP COMPANY
Employee ownership
Arvig became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company in 2002. Today, 40 percent of Arvig is employee-owned. As employee-owners, every employee has a stake in the company’s success, and that is what drives the employees’ commitment to collaboration and together, finding new and better ways to serve our customers and communities. Employees are empowered with a sense of ownership and a belief that their work, along with shared company values, contributes to the company’s success.

STANDING OUT
Recognized around the region
Arvig has been recognized around Minnesota as being a stand-out place to work. Our award-winning workplace is a reflection of strong company values and a commitment to a positive culture. The company’s 900+ employee-owners are actively working to create an environment where each other wants to come to work each day. Built on values including ownership, engagement, efficiency, and knowledge, employees have a stake in the company’s success and are driven through a diverse set of roles to deliver excellent experiences for customers.
UNSERVED AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES
Addressing the digital divide
In 2017, Arvig elected to accept a share of funding from the Federal Communications Commission’s Alternative Connect America Cost Model program, with the goal of bringing internet speeds of at least 25 Megabits per second (download) and 3 Megabits per second (upload) to rural areas in the Arvig service area. So far, Arvig has successfully built or improved internet networks in dozens of rural communities, with more areas targeted for improvement in the coming years.
