When you’re in the middle of a 600-mile move to Minnesota, the last thing any new resident needs is trouble getting settled.

For Rick Thompson and his wife, their first two nights in their new home in Detroit Lakes were not exactly the most comfortable.

The Thompsons arrived in Detroit Lakes from Kansas City in the middle of the night with two cars, three cats and a dog, but unfortunately, no furniture or belongings. Those items and the movers were scheduled to arrive two days later.

With the long journey behind them, the Thompsons spent their first two nights content, but sleeping on the floor.

Their experience having internet service installed later that week was much less painful.

As planned, the movers arrived. The same day, as scheduled, an Arvig crew greeted the Thompsons to install internet service at their home.

With Rick busy directing the movers and finding a place for their belongings, the Arvig crew was busy with a task of their own.

Getting service to the Thompson home meant extending the service line from the hook-up point at the street. The Arvig crew called in two professional locators and got out their shovels. With the area dug out and the line located, the crew spliced the line, secured the extended connection and re-buried the wire.

An hour and 20 minutes later, the job was complete and the Thompsons were connected to high-speed internet.

“Needless to say, I was very impressed with Arvig’s service and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for internet service,” Thompson said.
